From the multimedia novice to
the professional, this special three-day institute is a great
introduction to working with digital imaging and digital
video softwares. The institute included hands-on instruction
to Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Premiere and script/storyboard
development. Center for Digital Storytelling Staff provided
each attendee with specific assistance on their projects, including
design, scripting, and other issues regarding the use of the digital
storytelling.
Attendees completed a 3-5 minute piece which will be
output to CD ROM, DVD and/or VHS after the completion of the
institute.

Center for Digital Storytelling founder
and director Joe Lambert led a special day and half workshop
to explore the issues of facilitating work in Digital Storytelling.
The workshop included an in depth self-assessment of skills needed
to facilitate the process, close examination of the elements of storytelling,
using creative writing prompts to assist with workshops, group and
individual story feedback, and issues of managing production within
different contexts. The workshop concluded with an extended consulting
session on your digital storytelling projects.

Prerequisites:
Participants registering for the Train the Trainer Institute
must have attended a digital storytelling workshop or have
equivalent experience as an educator working with introductory
digital video production. Please send an email describing
your experience to nancy@nmc.org if you haven’t participated
in the workshop. Applicants will be reviewed prior to
final registration, and contacted by email. |

Joe Lambert is the founder of the Center
for Digital Storytelling and author of Digital Storytelling: Capturing Lives
and Creating Community. Lambert and CDS have helped over 9000 people
complete digital stories in 16 countries and 47 US States. Their methods
and approach are being used in innumerable educational, community and
professional settings.
Daniel Weinshenker directs the Denver Office of Center for
Digital Storytelling. An accomplished artist, writer, designer
and educator, with an MFA in Creative Writing from the University
of Colorado at Boulder. |
