Segue is a collaborative learning system designed as an open source
content management system for e-learning. There are a combination
of uses it provides such as the utilization of course management systems
and weblogs to create interactive web sites on various courses, news,
journals, peer reviews, and e-portfolios.
Segue can be integrated into an institution’s administrative
system and unlike e-learning systems such as WebCT or Blackboard,
which faculty are in control of posting most of the courses content,
it allows site owners to permit any individual or group to participate
and become collaborators of the site. Each site’s appearance
is customizable, which allows it to become a personal or a community
work space.

and forums available for users.
Segue was developed by the staff of the Center for Educational
Technology of Middlebury College a member institution of the National
Institute for Technology and Liberal Education (NITLE).
