Virtual Field Trip
Virtual Field Trip is a website dedicated to the geologic lesions in the Northern California Foothills. The field trip visits three locations: Bidwell Park, Pentz, and Table Mountain, each telling a unique part of the geologic story of the area. The site was designed to be used by faculty and teachers to supplement teaching and for students to supplement their learning and understanding of geological principles and concepts using 3 interesting sites in Northern California. This allows for those interested in learning about geology to gain a virtual experience, rather than not being able to attend an actual field trip, due to unforeseen circumstances. The site also allows students to preview before a field trip, review after a field trip, or be introduced to concepts covered in geology courses.

The faculty, staff, and students of California State University, Chico developed this module into a website from its original form as a CD. They chose to redesign the project for the web to allow the geological field trip and its learning modules be immediately accessible to public teachers, faculty and students.
