Position: Tenure Track Faculty at Instructor/Assistant Professor Rank
Discipline: Instructional Design
Required: Masters Degree in Instructional Design or appropriate learning technologies field
Preferred:
Two years college level teaching
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
Excellent interpersonal communication, problem solving and organizational skills.
Experience with digital audio, video and streaming media formats and their development.
Demonstrated ability in:
1. designing a course in an LMS
2. applying instructional strategies to address learning problems
3. applying emerging technologies and new media to learning
4. developing and presenting workshops and learning modules
5. creating tutorials and self-paced learning.

Instructional Development Specialist

Serves as the Learning Technologies (LT) staff member in the provision of e-learning course development and faculty support services of the Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching (CELT). Primary responsibilities include user support for the course management software WebCT/Vista. This includes managing course and user accounts, providing instructor phone, email and face-to-face support as well as participating in collaborative support activities with other university IT and instructional departments.

Instructional Designer

The person in this position plays a key role in UWM's efforts to develop and deliver hybrid/ blended, online, and technology-enhanced courses. You’ll help develop and implement faculty development programs and direct workshops in the use of our campus course management system. In order to stay abreast of classroom needs and trends, you’ll also be required to teach at least one course or course module per year. To qualify, you must have a master’s degree; college-level teaching experience; and a working knowledge of course management systems. Superior presentation and interpersonal skills are essential. Ph.D. preferred; faculty development and instructional design consulting experience is desired.
