Can our ancient brain handle the challenges of managing a social-cognitive system dominated by modern media? This lecture outlined the trajectory of human cognitive evolution, and its interaction with cultural and technological evolution.

The 2006 NMC Summer Conference was held June 7-10, 2006, in Cleveland, Ohio. Hosts were Case Western Reserve University, the Cleveland Institute of Art, the Cleveland Museum of Art, and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
