Challenge-Based Learning: An Approach for Our Time

In January 2009, the NMC launched a new program called the K12 Think Tank, with the mandate to conduct research and engage in activities relevant to trends and issues in primary and secondary education worldwide. In partnership with Apple Education, one of the first major pieces of research was an in-depth study of a new pedagogical approach to engage 9th grade students, right at the time when they are most at risk of dropping out.
